Tóm tắt
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, particularly pre-eclampsia and eclampsia, are major causes of maternal death and severe morbidity worldwide. They have lasting consequences for women’s cardiovascular health and contribute to stillbirth, preterm birth, newborn mortality and morbidity, and health-system costs. The burden is inequitable, with women and newborns in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) disproportionately affected by gaps in access to quality care. Despite progress against other causes of maternal mortality, deaths from hypertensive disorders have declined too slowly over the past three decades, highlighting the need for coordinated action.
